Discernment

That old “philosohy book” we call “The Bible” opines about “discernment” at least 30 times. I’m quoting 30 here, from various translations, (not as an endorsement but just to give the reader a feeling for how “Western Society” has viewed the concept of discernment, during the last 4 millennia.)

“So you will again see the difference between the righteous and the wicked, between one who serves God and one who does not serve Him. Malachi 3:18 (HCSB)

Most human beings are aware of a non-tangible quality that some have to immediately spot a “phony.” Do you get an immediate “bad feeling” about a stranger, based upon subtle clues of facial expression, or posture? Even when they present a jocular, friendly persona? How many times has this “intuition” proven to be true — in the long run?
