A Fair-Fight

I love how President Biden acknowledged the results of the 2024 US Election and I love his promise to allow a peaceful transition from his Administration to that of President-elect Trump. Much like the "ideal" Christian does, President Biden is "walking the walk" not just "talking the talk." The Bible's Jesus said something like, "They shall know you by your fruits" implying —in my opinion — not by your "haranging preaching,"

As most of you readers know, for two years I've been battling an aggressive (high-grade) form of Cancer. My good friend and next-door neighbor for 7 years is a Medical Doctor. He's one of those Christians who truly walks-the-walk. He and I were reviewing my latest PET CT Scan, which is mostly full of bad news. Before we prayed about it, I told him,

"The upside of this journey (compared to the deaths of those who are killed instantly in an accident or war-time situation) is that I've been given time to to think about it. I've also been given time to set my affairs in order, both around the house, and with my friends, family and acquaintances whom I have wronged, one way or the other. An opportunity to make amends."

Later on, I stepped outside at midnight and saw that gorgeous waxing-moon setting in the West. There overhead, just a little south of the Zenith was Orion, which reminded me of a visit to California's Central Coast fifteen years ago when my brother and I enjoyed our coffee while outside looking at Orion, one night. That memory made me think once again about President Biden's speech. It dawned on me that this Cancer battle was also a fair fight. I mean, for me it was a fight, but for God it was only a test. I sense that this test has no winner nor loser: it has only a tester and a test-taker who gets a grade, not a win or lose decision. Current wisdom hints that there is "Life After Life"* my grade, whether an A or an F will probably be discussed, for everyone's edification — everyone in the Universe or Universes.
